Daylilies put on a spectacular show in July and August in Western Washington.
But to really see a full range, visit A & D Nursery at least twice during the blooming season—once during the week of the Fourth of July for the first major flush of blooms, then again in July-August to catch some later blooms.  To see the very latest bloomers, come again the third week in August.
Even though a daylily bloom lasts just one day, there’s absolutely no shortage of blooms, from the fireworks on the Fourth of July until the mid to end of August.  The plants keep those bloom scapes coming one after another.  While daylilies are a mainstay in gardens in other parts of the US, here in the Northwest, probably because of the overwhelming abundance of perennials we can grow in our gardens, they’re seldom seen.
The photos above give you just a sampling of the incredible attributes of daylilies, especially some the newer varieties.
As for cultivation, no experience necessary and nothing’s easier to grow than daylilies.
