& D has been growing and selling peonies since the early '70s, having started with the Goldsmith peony collection, most of which was originated by Professor A. P. Saunders of Clinton, NY some 50 years ago. He was America's first major hybridizer of peonies.

Our rolling and wooded 3 ½ acres somehow looks like a whole lot more than it really is, maybe because it's so jam-packed with a multitude of peony varieties including over 200 varieties of tree peonies, and thousands of daylilies and hostas, including the latest from the major hybridizers, and many of our own seedlings.

Our goal has been to bring a breathtaking array of peonies, tree peonies, daylilies and hostas to our area and to provide highest quality plants from around the world, as well as a special place for delightful discovery. Among our tree peonies we feature American, European and Japanese hybrids, which thrive in our climate and most other peony-growing regions in the U.S.

Since the early '70s, A & D has been cultivating fabulous plants, great friends and a reputation for quality plants and excellent service. We believe growing integrity is just as important as growing plants. We don't hesitate to talk ourselves out of a sale when it's the right thing to do.

And while we're always trying to learn more from the hybridizers and plantsmen whose work we admire, we're always eager to share our Northwest experience here at the nursery or in our slide show talks to the garden clubs we visit with each season.   continued--->
